10 Quality, Testing & Product Lifecycle services

We test as part of delivery, not as a gate at the end: manual and automated testing, performance and security checks, and the long-term maintenance that keeps a live product stable through OS updates, traffic growth and new features.

01

Strategy

Decide what to test, how and when.

Test strategy

The test pyramid we build for every product

Fast, quick-to-run tests at the bottom; a few high-value end-to-end tests at the top. Teams that invert this pyramid end up with slow, flaky suites that nobody trusts.

  1. End-to-end UI testsFew

Critical user journeys such as sign-up, checkout or booking, run before each release.

  2. API & integration testsMore

Contracts between services, databases and third-party APIs, run on every merge.

  3. Unit testsMost

Business logic checked in milliseconds on every commit, written with the code.

Automate

  • Regression suites
  • Smoke tests on every deploy
  • API contract tests
  • Data-driven form and rule checks
  • Load and stress tests

Keep manual

  • Exploratory testing of new features
  • Usability and visual polish
  • Screen-reader accessibility checks
  • Edge cases found in production
  • User acceptance testing

How we deliver

How we deliver Quality, Testing & Product Lifecycle

Five steps, adapted to this kind of work, with working software or a tested prototype shown at every stage.

  1. 01

    Assess

QA audit of current process, coverage, defects and tools.

  2. 02

    Plan

Risk-based test strategy and coverage goals.

  3. 03

    Automate

Frameworks and suites wired into your CI/CD pipeline.

  4. 04

    Test every sprint

Manual and automated testing alongside development.

  5. 05

    Maintain

Production monitoring, maintenance releases and support.

Straight answers

When this is the right call, and when it is not

We would rather recommend less than sell you more. Here is how we judge it.

A good fit when

Products with frequent regressions, teams preparing for a major launch or traffic spike, and live products that need dependable long-term care.

  • Automated regression suites running on every release
  • Load-tested systems with known capacity limits
  • Live products kept stable, patched and compatible
  • Do not automate everything

Automating tests for features that change weekly creates maintenance work without confidence. We automate stable, high-value paths and keep exploration manual.

  • Testing at the end is too late

A test phase after development finds problems when they are slowest to fix. We embed QA in each sprint instead.

  • 100% coverage is not the goal

Coverage numbers can look good while critical journeys stay untested. We measure risk covered, not lines touched.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Quality, Testing & Product Lifecycle

What software testing services does O Clock Software offer?

O Clock Software offers 10 services in this area: quality assurance, manual testing, test automation, SDET services, performance testing, mobile and digital testing, security testing, QA strategy, product maintenance, and support and maintenance.

What is the difference between manual and automated testing?

Manual testing uses people to explore and judge an application, which is best for new features, usability and edge cases. Automated testing uses scripts to repeat checks quickly on every release, which is best for regression, APIs and load. Most products need both.

Can you test software that you did not build?

Yes. We start with a QA audit of the product, existing tests and defect history, then set up a test strategy and automation suite around your current release process, working alongside your developers.

How long does it take to set up test automation?

A first automated smoke and regression suite for critical journeys is usually running within the first few sprints, then coverage grows with each release. Timelines depend on the product's size and how testable the code already is.

What is an SDET?

An SDET (software development engineer in test) is an engineer who writes code to test code: building test frameworks, automating suites and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. SDETs make testing scale with the product rather than with headcount.

Do you do performance and load testing?

Yes. We simulate realistic and peak traffic with tools such as JMeter and k6, find the point where response times degrade, identify bottlenecks in code, database or infrastructure, and retest after fixes.

Do you provide security testing?

Yes. We run vulnerability scanning, OWASP Top 10 checks and authenticated testing of web, mobile and API endpoints, and support formal penetration tests where your compliance requirements call for them. [VERIFY scope of in-house vs partner pen-testing]

What does product maintenance include?

Product maintenance keeps live software stable and current: dependency and OS updates, compatibility fixes, performance tuning, security patches and small improvements, with support levels and response times agreed in advance.
