What we build

iOS App Development: what we build

Native Swift and SwiftUI apps for iPhone and iPad. Here are the six kinds of iOS app development work we are asked for most often.

Choosing the UI framework

SwiftUI, UIKit or both?

Apple's two UI frameworks work side by side. Most new apps we build use SwiftUI, with UIKit where a feature still needs it.

SwiftUI UIKit Mixed
Best for New apps and new screens Complex, highly custom interfaces and older codebases Existing apps adding new features
Code style Declarative, less code Imperative, more control Both, connected through bridges
Minimum iOS version Works best on recent versions Supports older versions Set by the oldest screen
Watch out for Gaps for some advanced controls More code to maintain Two patterns for the team to know

Straight answers

Is iOS App Development right for you?

We would rather recommend less than sell you more. Here is how we judge it.

A good fit when

  • Your users are mostly on iPhone or iPad
  • The app relies on Apple device features
  • Top performance and polish on iOS matter
  • You may add Apple Watch or widgets
  • You need iOS and Android at the same time

A cross-platform framework may reach both sooner; see Cross-Platform App Development.

  • Users visit only occasionally

A responsive web app may serve them without an App Store release.

  • No one will maintain the app

iOS changes every year; plan maintenance from the start.

FAQ

iOS App Development FAQ

Should we build our app natively for iOS?

Build natively for iOS when most of your users are on Apple devices, when the app depends on Apple features such as HealthKit, Apple Watch or widgets, or when top performance matters. If you need iOS and Android together, a cross-platform framework may be quicker.

What is the difference between SwiftUI and UIKit?

SwiftUI is Apple's modern declarative framework for building interfaces with less code, while UIKit is the older imperative framework with fine-grained control. New apps mostly use SwiftUI, and both can be combined in one app.

Do you publish apps to the App Store?

Yes. We prepare builds, App Store listings, privacy details and screenshots, submit the app for review and respond to reviewer questions. Apps are published under your own Apple Developer account.

How do you avoid App Store rejections?

We design against Apple's App Store Review Guidelines from the start, complete privacy declarations accurately, test on real devices and run TestFlight betas before submission, which removes the most common causes of rejection.

Do you build Apple Watch apps?

Yes. We build watchOS apps and companions that show notifications, track activity and use sensors, designed for short, glanceable interactions.

Which iOS versions will the app support?

We usually support the current and previous major iOS versions, which covers most active iPhones, and agree a minimum version with you based on your users' devices.
