When should we modernise our mobile app?

Modernise when the app crashes or fails on new OS versions, when its framework is unsupported, when changes take far longer than they should, or when ratings fall because of quality issues.

Is Xamarin still supported?

No. Microsoft ended support for Xamarin in May 2024. Xamarin apps should move to .NET MAUI, native development or another cross-platform framework.

Should we rebuild our app or fix it?

Fix it if the architecture is sound and the problems are crashes, outdated libraries or performance. Rebuild when the framework is unsupported or the code makes every change slow and risky.

Will users lose their data when we migrate?

No, if it is planned properly. We migrate accounts and data, keep the same app listing where possible so ratings and installs are preserved, and roll out in stages.

Can you migrate a Cordova or Ionic app?

Yes. We rebuild hybrid apps in Flutter, React Native or native code, reusing the backend and business logic where possible.

How do you reduce risk during a migration?

We migrate in stages, use phased store releases, monitor crashes and feedback at each step, and keep the ability to roll back until the new version is proven.
